FAQs

Rob for Select Board

Why are you running for Select Board?

I believe residents need to be involved in their government. I have been significantly involved during the last two years. I believe I can positively contribute to Littleton. I want voters to have choices.

I never expected to become so involved. One neighbor mentioned one problem and then another neighbor mentioned something else. I decided to pursue the first and so it began. Five years later, I’m proud to say that I’ve made a difference.

  • Littleton is undergoing considerable change.
  • Hearing each other and those who don’t readily speak is critical.
  • The Lupoli projects will have a profound impact.
  • What should be done with Littleton’s Town Hall and the Nagog Orchard house.
  • The DPW outgrew their space years ago.
  • The Select Board will receive Charter Committee’s recommendations about town government.
  • Today’s budget challenges exist will be strained further.
  • Thoughtful planning and action is needed.

What are your top 3 priorities?

1. Expand efforts to get resident input to prepare for difficult choices through surveys, informational sessions before town meeting, and questions placed in the town newsletter and the Broadcaster.

2. Present a home rule charter to town meeting and continue town government’s evolution through additional by-law changes.

3. Discuss with other Select Board members whether the Select Board’s liaison practice is providing the desired outcomes to ensure an understanding of and harmony with the goals and activities of various appointed boards and committees.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I’m a “transformational” leader. I routinely evaluate existing conditions before identifying opportunities for improvement. I strive to always be respectful when encountering the inevitable obstacles. I’m a hard worker known to be quite persistent.

What does “Rely on Rounce” mean to you?

Count on Rob to research the problem and to consider the various short-term and long-term challenges. People recognize my work effort and know me to be fair and level-headed.

What is your vision for Littleton?

Littleton will continue to be home to many who have already raised families here.

Littleton will be the community many young people will decide to move to in order to educate their children and to enjoy the town’s many offerings.

Littleton will be a preferred employer because employees recognize they are responsibly paid, appreciated, and managed well with clear direction.

This vision requires intentional and disciplined management to serve its residents.

Rob for Park & Recreation

What are the biggest Park & Recreation challenges?

The Park, Recreation and Community Education department consistently runs outstanding programs. Continuing those programs is paramount while also overcoming the many challenges presented in the Town of Littleton Parks, Recreation Internal Controls Assessment October 2025 Final Report that hasn’t been publicly presented as of March 29, 2026. I know of the assessment because I regularly attend Select Board meetings and learned of it in the Select Board’s July 14, 2025 meeting when reference was made to a  “PRCE Operational assessment that was not budgeted.” Transparency of assessments should be routinely embraced in order to continue to maintain the public’s trust. Assessments are always challenging but are needed to improve operations that serve Littleton’s residents.

What are your top 3 priorities for Park & Recreation?

1. Review the Long Lakes Beach operations.  Consider discontinuing non-residential access while also considering the discontinuance of Littleton seasonal memberships. Residential memberships generate approximately $15,000 from less than 10% of Littleton’s residents resulting in 90% of Littleton residents being prevented from enjoying Long Lake Beach and Playground during the summer.

2. Review program rates, expenses, and profitability to assess equitability.

3. Discuss the factors that led to the PRCE Revolving Fund having a $740k surplus balance and whether the Park and Recreation Commissioners were aware of the existence of that balance.  Develop a policy for a desired fund balance to be maintained annually along with identifying planned expenditures.

Why should voters choose you?

I’ve successfully advocated to get many things done. I have worked behind the scenes with town officials to implement changes. I’ve successfully done this while not being a member of a board or commission. I’ve worked from the outside and now I’m asking for votes to allow me to serve Littleton from the inside as a member of the Select Board and as a Park and Recreation Commissioner.
